8 Questions with our

New Face – from Russia

1. Welcome to MAP! What’s your full name? 

​

Thank you! My name is Kseniia, but friends and family just call me Ksusha or Ksu.

​

2. We know you’re from Russia, from where exactly are you from? Can you please say to us something about your childhood?

I was born in Moscow, but throughout my childhood I lived between two countries: Russia and Ukraine. Every six months we traveled Moscow-Sevastopol, Crimea. When I was 12, my family moved completely to Sevastopol, and I studied in Ukraine. Maybe that’s why I love traveling and can’t imagine my life without nature.

3. How would you describe your life in 3 words? Please share with us any remarkable stories of your life.

Free. Curious. Trusting. I’ve always believed that if something good or bad happens in life, it’s not without reason. Life gives us what we can handle-the main thing is to trust it. For me, the key is not to see life as a “problem” but as a “question”-“no big deal, how can I solve this?”.

4. Do you remember often your dreams? 

Mostly I remember the feelings from dreams it’s hard to describe details. But one recurring dream comes to me in difficult moments and brings me peace: I dive underwater, the water is like glass, and at the bottom I see a golden bird-like the one from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “The Golden Bird.” I watch it in awe, wondering how this bird can breathe underwater and be so beautiful.

5. What’s your favorite country to visit as tourist and what’s the country you would like to live in?

My father is a ski and snowboard instructor, so most of our family trips were to ski resorts. As a tourist, I really liked Finland-it was very comfortable, calm, and people were pleasant. As for living-I’d like to try Japan, China, or Korea, I can’t decide. Why? Hmm, I like the climate, the nature around, and I like people’s mentality there. I feel a sense of freedom in these countries.

6. Are you a morning person?

​

Honestly, I was a “night owl” my whole life because I’m an artist, I still usually paint at night, but in the last year I’ve become a “morning person.” If I need to wake up before dawn-I can do it without a problem.

​

7. Two more! Share with us the 3 best and worst things about yourself

Best:

​

Sensitivity-I listen carefully and can understand other people’s feelings.

Ability to find joy in small things-there’s so much beauty in life.

Can win anyone over and find common ground-I connect with all kinds of people.

Worst:

​

Irritability-when people cross my boundaries.

Unstable-this is more about moving often; I can’t stay in one place for long. If I get bored or achieve what I wanted, I can decide in one day to move to another city/country. Maybe that’s actually a good quality though.

Can’t stay where I’m not interested-I lose all motivation if something doesn’t engage me.

8. Last question! Tomorrow morning you will wake up and you have to make a choice:

A - you learn how to speak in Japanese 

B - you will become an owner of a villa in Bali.

C - you can choose 1 superpower randomly.

Why can I only pick one? haha

​

I’d choose B because my guests would come from all over the world, I could learn Japanese with them too, and we’d have a big friendly community.
